Itinerary
Day 1: The Governor's Residence, Yangon
Fly Bangkok to Yangon, for two nights at The Governor's Residence. A city sightseeing tour in the afternoon, culminating in a sunset visit to the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda.
Day 2: The Governor's Residence, Yangon
At leisure. A variety of optional tours are available.
Day 3: Road To Mandalay
Fly to Mandalay and join Road To Mandalay. After lunch, enjoy a sightseeing tour of the temples and markets of Mandalay, regarded as the centre of Burmese culture. Dinner and first night on board.
Day 4: Road To Mandalay, Bagan
Visit a local village to discover the Burmese way of life. Sail for Bagan mid-morning and watch the unfolding river scenes of everyday life along this mighty waterway. Enjoy an on-board lecture on the Myanmar way of life and demonstrations of local customs.
Day 5: Road To Mandalay, Bagan
Morning disembarkation in Bagan where more than 2,000 temples and pagodas remain on this awe-inspiring plain. A guided orientation tour before lunch on board, then later a sunset tour of this remarkable, unforgettable region.
Day 6: Road To Mandalay, Mount Popa
Excursion to Mount Popa, home to the legendary Nats (spirit gods), where there is a picturesque complex of monasteries and shrines on top of a rocky crag. Lunch at a nearby hotel.
Day 7: Road To Mandalay, Mandalay
Relax on board, optional balloon flight or explore the local market and craft shops. Late morning departure for Mandalay.
Day 8: Road To Mandalay, Sagaing
Arrive after lunch at the little village of Shwe Kyet Yet and enjoy a visit to Sagaing, the living centre of the Buddhist faith in Burma and famous for its silversmiths who still work in much the same way as their ancestors did.
Day 9: Road To Mandalay, Maymyo
Visit Maymyo, a colonial hill station set high in the mountains. Soak up the atmosphere with its English-style houses, colourful market and beautiful botanic gardens. Enjoy a typical Shan lunch at a local restaurant.
Day 10: Departure
Morning departure by air to Yangon. Lunch at a local hotel before the onward evening flight to Bangkok.

Itinerary
Days 1 & 2: The Governor's Residence
Fly from Bangkok to Yangon for two nights at The Governor's Residence. Enjoy an afternoon city tour including the spectacular Shwedagon Pagoda, with time at leisure. Optional tours available locally.
Day 3: Road To Mandalay - Bagan
Fly from Yangon to Bagan and board the Road To Mandalay. Enjoy a tour of the most important pagodas of Bagan set on this magnificent plain, which ends as the sun sets.
Day 4: Road To Mandalay - Mandalay
Explore Bagan on your own, take an optional balloon flight (see opposite), or join a tour to the temples and markets before a midmorning sailing for Mandalay, watching the changing river views.
Day 5: Road To Mandalay - Shwe Kyet Yet
After lunch on board, arrive in the quaint little village of Shwe Kyet Yet. Enjoy an afternoon visit to Mandalay, including a visit to the Mahamuni Temple, home to a highly venerated image of Buddha.
Day 6: Road To Mandalay - Mingun
Travel by road and local vessel to Mingun, renowned for having the remains of the world's largest brick-built pagoda and the world's largest uncracked bell. Later, visit Sagaing where the hills resound with Buddhist prayers and the hammers of the silversmiths.
Day 7: Departure
Morning departure by air to Yangon. After lunch at a local hotel, fly to Bangkok early evening.
