Itinerary

Day 1 - OVERNIGHT FLIGHT
Fly overnight to Bangkok with British Airways/Qantas.

Day 2 - BANGKOK
Arrive in Bangkok and transfer to The Oriental Hotel for three nights in the "City of Angels".


Day 3 - AYUTTHYA
Your car and guide will take you to the ancient capital of Thailand, Ayutthya. Here, the remains of a lost dynasty give a glimpse of past times. Later, visit the beautiful Summer Palace, where the Queen of Thailand has one of her summer homes.

Day 4 - BANGKOK
A day at your leisure to discover and experience bustling Bangkok.


Day 5 - LUANG PRABANG
Fly with Bangkok Airways to Laos, Luang Prabang, – a world heritage site – for two nights at La Résidence Phou Vao, including dinner. On arrival enjoy a short orientation tour ending with a view of the city from Phousi Hill at Sunset.

Day 6 - LUANG PRABANG
    Enjoy a day of sightseeing in this magical Laotian town. After a visit to Wat Xieng Thong, one of the many richly decorated temples, travel by boat on the Mekong River to the Pak Ou Caves where the countless images of the Lord Buddha are to be found.

Day 7 - Yangon
Fly from Luang Prabang to Yangon, the capital of Myanmar, via Bangkok and stay at The Governor's Residence for two nights.

Day 8 - YANGON
Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour including a visit to the mighty Shwedagon Pagoda. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.


Days 9, 10 & 11 - ROAD TO MANDALAY
Fly to Mandalay and enjoy our three-night Road to Mandalay programme in a superior A deck cabin.

On Day 9
enjoy sightseeing tours of the temples and markets of Mandalay. Dinner and your first night on board.

On Day 10
visit Sagaing with its famous monasteries and pagodas and splendid views across the river. Sail for Bagan and watch the unfolding river scenes of everday life along this mighty, pristine waterway.

On Day 11
arrive in Bagan where over 2,000 ruined temples and pagodas cover the plain and take a guided orientation tour to discover the most significant. After lunch on board, explore independently or take a sunset tour to the pagodas
.



Day 12 - SIEM REAP
Fly from Myanmar to Cambodia via Bangkok, for three nights in Siem Reap, home of the many temples of Angkor, at La Résidence d'Angkor.


Days 13 & 14 - SIEM REAP
A programme of visits to the many temples, including Angkor Thom, the Banyon, Banteay Srei and of course Angkor Wat will be arranged. Lunch and dinner is included at the hotel.


Days 15 & 16 - LONDON
Return by air to London via Bangkok and arrive London Heathrow on Day 16.

Itinerary

Day 1: Bangkok
Fly overnight to Bangkok with British Airways/Qantas.

Day 2: Bangkok
Arrive in Bangkok. Overnight at the airport's Novotel hotel (Deluxe Room).

Day 3: La Résidence Phou Vao, Luang Prabang
Fly to Luang Prabang, Laos–a World Heritage site. Spend three nights at La Résidence Phou Vao (Garden View Room) including dinner.

Day 4: La Résidence Phou Vao, Luang Prabang
Your private guide will take you on a full day of sightseeing, visiting Phousi Hill with its fine view of the city, the Royal Palace and, after lunch at a local restaurant, fine temples with unique style, which are found throughout the city.Visit the splendid night market before returning to the hotel for dinner.

Day 5: La Résidence Phou Vao, Luang Prabang 
Visit Wat Xieng Thong, before taking a boat ride on the Mekong to the Pak Ou Caves, where countless images of Buddha are to be found. Lunch at a local restaurant before visiting Ban Xanghai, where local rice wine is made. Return to Luang Prabang via Ban Phanom village, well known for hand weaving and local handicrafts. Enjoy a final dinner at your hotel.

Days 6 & 7: Bangkok
Return to Bangkok for two nights at The Oriental (Superior River Wing).A visit to the ancient Thai Capital of Ayutthaya is included on Day 6.

Days 8, 9 & 10: La Résidence d'Angkor, Siem Reap
Fly to Siem Reap (for Angkor) in Cambodia for three nights at La Résidence d'Angkor (Garden View Deluxe Room). Your programme of sightseeing of the Temples will be arranged to suit your personal taste, but would include Angkor Thom,Ta Prohm, the Bayon, Banteay Srei and, of course,Angkor Wat. Lunch and dinner is
included each day at the hotel.

Day 11: The Governor's Residence, Yangon
Fly from Siem Reap to Yangon in Myanmar (via Bangkok) for two nights at The Governor's Residence (Governor's Room).

Day 12: The Governor's Residence, Yangon
Today a guide and car are at your disposal for sightseeing in the capital of Myanmar, which will surely include a visit to the mighty Shwedagon Pagoda.

Day 13: Departure (Optional Road To Mandalay extension)
Return by air to Bangkok and on to London, arriving on Day 14. Alternatively extend your visit to Myanmar with a four-night cruise on the Ayeyarwady River on board the Road To Mandalay.
